Product Description

The Zodiac Baracuda In-Line Leaf Trap is a filter that is suitable for most suction pool cleaners including the Baracuda B3, R3 and MX8 which collects debris before it reaches the pump basket to prevent clogging.

The Baracuda In-Line Leaf Trap has a greater capacity for leaves and debris than the average pump basket and has a convenient handle for easier cleaning and emptying. The leaf trap connects directly to the skimmer or to the suction point. Being completely immersed it does not provoke and air intake. By virtue of the leaf trap, the pumps filtration system handles only the finest debris.

This unit includes a built-in drain plug to empty water for easier canister handling.

The Baracuda Leaf Trap is manufactured from clear UV-resistant materials so you can see when the Zodiac Leaf Trap needs emptying. With the unique T-trap connection, all vacuum hoses remain connected while the leaf trap is removed. The unique design of this leaf trap uses the cleaner's own water flow to create a vacuum within the trap, compacting and holding more leaves and debris, so there's less emptying.

Using the Baracuda In-Line Leaf Trap even when full does not affect the pump: the pump's suction rate is not diminished.

The Zodiac Baracuda In-Line Leaf Trap is suitable for all pools.

Compatible with the Baracuda B3, R3 and MX8 Suction Pool Cleaner.

Great, It collects leaves and other bits and pieces picked up by the cleaner. You can see them wizzing round in the transparent trap. What more can I say?

I use the skimmer suction for vacuuming and this quickly clogs the sand filter which of course wastes a lot of water to backflush & rinse. I then used a small fine-mesh filter and vacuum head all-in-one which was very effective but the filter was rather small and so one had to clean it out 5 or 6 times per session and it wasn't very easy. This Zodiac device is well made and works fine. It is described as a leaf filter and it does that very well, but I would prefer a finer mesh so that it collects more stuff (bugs, small debris etc) or ideally a range of filters.
