Calcium Hardness is the measurement of dissolved calcium in water. For swimming pools, calcium hardness should be maintained at a minimum of 200mg/I (ppm) and become part of your water balancing regime.
Low levels can harm the pool and its equipment, this is especially essential if you have a tiled swimming pool. If the calcium level is too low, the water will be corrosive and can eat into the grout between the tiles. This can lead to tiles popping off.
